The Challenge

Timberborn had been a highly successful Early Access title for years, supported by numerous updates. As the pivotal 1.0 launch approached in March 2026, the challenge was to cut through the noise, reignite dormant excitement, and effectively mirror the studio's global marketing push on a local scale in China.

Our Collaborative Strategy

Our strategy was to amplify Mechanistry's global PR efforts by deeply engaging the local community and content creators.

  • Physical PR Packages: In collaboration with Better Gaming Agency, we managed the localized logistics of sending 20 premium PR/merch packages directly to key Chinese influencers.
  • Community-Centric Hype: We encouraged creators to showcase these packages organically. Influencers hosted giveaways on Bilibili and filmed charming unboxing videos featuring their pets, which strongly resonated with the audience.
  • Consistent Communication: We ensured that all global Steam announcements and developer updates were meticulously localized, keeping the Chinese player base fully informed and involved in the lead-up to the launch.

  • Within just two weeks of the 1.0 launch, targeted paid videos generated 360,000 views.

  • The community engagement was so strong that Chinese players began actively petitioning for an official merchandise store to be made available in their region.
